At Embrace Mind Psychiatry, we provide valuable insights and resources to help individuals, families, and professionals navigate the complexities of personality disorders. Our mission is to foster understanding, promote acceptance, and offer support for those affected by these conditions.
What are Personality Disorders?
Personality disorders are a group of mental health conditions characterized by deeply ingrained patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that deviate significantly from societal expectations. These patterns often cause distress and impair functioning in various areas of life, including relationships, work, and personal well-being.
Types of Personality Disorders:
Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts that a person feels driven to perform in response to an obsession. These compulsions reduce distress or prevent a feared event or situation. Still, they are not connected realistically with what they are designed to neutralize or prevent.
Cluster A Personality Disorder – Paranoid Personality Disorder (PPD), Schizoid Personality Disorder (SPD), and Schizotypal Personality Disorders (SPD)
Cluster B Personality Disorder – Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD), Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), Histrionic Personality Disorder (HPD), and Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD)
Cluster C Personality Disorder – Avoidant Personality Disorder (AvPD), Dependent Personality Disorder (DPD), and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality disorders (OCPD)
At Embrace Mind Psychiatry, we recognize the importance of compassionate support and education for individuals living with these conditions, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. Through understanding and empathy, we strive to promote healing, resilience, and hope for a brighter future.
